The Community Engagement Room
is the heart of KOD, welcoming every student, visitor, and each of our 1,500+ annual volunteers.

It’s where our students integrate through games and icebreakers before starting their academic work, fostering vital friendships and a deep sense of belonging.
This space also proudly showcases the four foundational pillars—Education, Nutrition, Arts & Athletics, and Strategic Events—that guide every program we offer.
Language Acquisition
Room
Our Language Acquisition Room is a dedicated space focused on high-quality ESOL tutoring for students of all ages.
Tutors use innovative tools like laptops, videos, and sign language to make learning English engaging and effective.
By empowering students with these foundational skills, we significantly boost their performance in all school subjects, leading to better grades and the ability to graduate ready for college.
Art Room
The Art Room serves as a vibrant, safe space where students build confidence through creativity and self-expression.

They gain exposure to various techniques like painting, drawing, and collage, all while developing essential fine motor skills.
Our staff actively encourages mindfulness through art, allowing students a therapeutic outlet to manage emotions and find their voice in a positive, creative environment.
Dance Room
In the Dance Room, students explore the joy of movement while developing
crucial life skills.
Our programs teach diverse techniques and styles, emphasizing rhythm, count, and cultural diversity.
Through practice, students enhance their confidence, self-discipline, and determination, connecting their passion to movement and gaining new perspectives that contribute to their growth both inside and outside KOD.
THE PANTRY
The Pantry is a vital resource that ensures our community's foundational needs are met.
It supplies all the ingredients required to provide nutritious meals and snacks to students while they are on campus.
Critically, we also use this space to provide groceries and essential household items to families every month, offering the direct, consistent support necessary to lighten their load and help them thrive.
ATHLETICS RESOURCE ROOM
The Athletics Department provides a crucial positive outlet through physical activity, with a strong focus on soccer.
This program is specially designed to benefit our young men, teaching them invaluable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
Through their soccer teams, they find a healthy way to grow, forge strong friendships, and connect as part of a supportive, goal-oriented team.
Music Room
The Music Room allows our students to explore their creative potential through song and instrument.
Students learn to play instruments, sing, and collaborate, naturally developing skills like rhythm, harmony, and coordination.
This fantastic space provides an expressive and collaborative environment, helping students build confidence and strong teamwork abilities through the universal language of music.
STEAM
ROOM
The STEAM Room is where our students become active innovators by diving into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

Here, learning is hands-on; students are constantly building, experimenting, and problem-solving, with tutors guiding them through complex concepts.
This program is essential for developing critical thinking skills and preparing our students to be the technological leaders and creators of tomorrow.
Transportation
The KOD bus service is the crucial key to access for all our students.
​
This reliable and safe transportation, staffed by fully background-checked and insured drivers, ensures students are picked up directly from their homes and schools.
Without this essential link, most of our children wouldn't be able to participate in any of our valuable programs, making our buses the most important stop on our campus tour.
BUSINESS TRAINING CENTER
This center is dedicated to equipping our students for real-world career success through a curriculum that focuses on post-high school preparedness.
Teens master skills like financial literacy, resume writing, time management, and conflict resolution.
The program is uniquely integrated with the ARTSWAP storefront, which provides real-life retail experience in a safe, monitored setting, ensuring our students gain transferable skills for any future job market.
